Paint correction

Automatic car washes and dry towels leave clear coat full of swirls. Correction levels those scratches out, one measured pass at a time, so the gloss is real and it lasts.

  • Paint depth logged
  • 1, 2 or 3 stage
  • No filler glazes

What paint correction is, and what it is not.

Paint correction is the controlled removal of a very thin layer of clear coat to level out swirl marks, random scratches, water spot etching and oxidation. It is not a glaze or a wax that fills defects for a few weeks.

We measure paint depth before and during the job, test a section to find the least aggressive pad and polish that gets the result, then work the car panel by panel. Remaining clear coat is always the priority.

What changes the price

The process, step by step.

  1. Measure

Paint depth and defect mapping tell us how much correction the clear coat can safely take.

  2. Test spot

We polish a small section with the gentlest combination first and step up only if needed.

  3. Compound

A cutting pass removes deeper scratches and etching on the panels that need it.

  4. Refine

A finishing polish removes haze and brings the gloss and clarity back up.

  5. Protect

Corrected paint is sealed immediately with a sealant, a ceramic coating or film.

Why owners book it.

  1. Real gloss

Scratches are removed rather than filled, so the finish does not fade after a few washes.

  2. Better resale photos

Swirl-free paint photographs sharply for private sale and trade-in appraisals.

  3. Right base for protection

Coatings and film lock in the finish, so correcting first is the only way to protect a flawless surface.

No. If a fingernail catches in it, the scratch is usually through the clear coat. We will tell you during the test spot and never polish past a safe paint depth.

A careful correction removes only a few microns. Protected with a coating or film, most cars never need a heavy correction again.

For newer cars with light wash marring, often yes. Daily drivers with years of automatic car washes usually need two stages.
